In the White Swan Pond area of Guangzhou's Liwan District, a new cultural complex combining the construction of the Guangdong Museum of Art, the Guangdong Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition Center and the Guangdong Literature Center, is in full swing.

It's expected that this new landmark featuring Lingnan culture will be officially open to the public in 2023. Upon completion, all the exhibitions and events held here will be available to visitors for free. As a large-scale cultural complex integrating exhibitions, entertainment and education, it can serve more than 2.5 million visitors each year.
With a total area of 138,000 square meters, the complex covers an overground area of 97,500 square meters and an underground one of 40,500 square meters. Among them, the area of the three museum and centers mentioned above cover 65,140 square meters, 26,000 square meters and 17,330 square meters respectively.

Guangdong Museum of Art
As the largest one among these three buildings, the Guangdong Museum of Art works with six functions, namely, collections, research, exhibitions, education, cultural exchanges and services. Moreover, it will also design a variety of art spaces with various themes, offering a wide range of cultural entertainments and services for visitors with different cultural relishes.
Guangdong Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition Center
Guangdong Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition Center is responsible for the preservation, protection, inheritance, exhibition and display of literary works, research on intangible cultural heritage, cultural exchanges as well as R&D. To be specific, the Center will collect, preserve, study and display precious cultural relics of Guangdong's local intangible cultural heritages.

Guangdong LiteratureCenter
Guangdong Literature Center will serve as a cluster for literary works originating from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and along the 21st Maritime Silk Road. Its functions include collection, exhibition, research, education, reading, communications and creative innovation. Highlighting literary works originating in Lingnan region, Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR and Taiwan as well as those created by Chinese overseas, the Center manages to work as an important cultural base for the creation and research of literature featuring distinctive regional characteristics.
