The fourth session of the 16th Liwan District Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) commenced in Guangzhou on February 26.

Wu Huiwen, Chairman of the CPPCC Liwan District Committee, delivered a report on behalf of the Standing Committee of the 16th CPPCC Liwan District Committee. According to Wu, Liwan District had made great achievements in ideological and political leadership in 2023, as well as in service for the overall development. This demonstrated the CPPCC's commitment and prowess in facilitating high-quality development in Liwan.

Liu Hualing, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC Liwan District Committee, reported that over the past year, Liwan District received 143 proposals, with 114 being filed after review. The satisfaction rate among proposers regarding the results reached 100 percent, with all proposals being either adopted by the party committee and government or becoming important reference for decision-making. Thus, they actively contributed to the high-quality development of Liwan District.

During the meeting, an announcement was made regarding the commendation of outstanding proposals, special awards for "people's proposals," as well as the recognition of advanced organizations and individuals involved in handling proposals since the third session of the 16th Committee of the CPPCC of Liwan District, Guangzhou City. A total of 17 outstanding proposals, five special awards for "people's proposals," eight advanced organizations, and eight individuals were commended for their contribution.
