Mooncakes And Moon appreciation（月饼和赏月）

　　It is said that mooncakes were invented by a Tang Dynasty prime minister, Pei Ji, to solve the problem of insufficient military food during his early campaigns. In the Tang Dynasty, it was a snack for the military. It then became an imperial snack during the Northern Song Period, before gradually developing into a traditional delicacy well loved by the public during the Ming Dynasty. It is now considered a 'must-have item' for the Mid-Autumn Festival.

　　关于月饼的诞生，人们传说是曾任唐朝宰相的裴寂在早年随军征战时，为解决军粮问题而发明的。它最初是在唐军中流传，北宋时成为宫中名点，随后逐渐传入民间，到明朝时成为了被人们普遍接受并喜爱的点心，也演化成了中秋节的“保留项目”。

　　A Moonlit Crab Crawl to Bring Wealth and Fortune（螃蟹爬月，财源广进）

　　During the Mid-Autumn Festival, a custom known as "crab crawling the moon" is practiced along Tianjin's coast. In the evening of that day, people place small candles or oil twists on the backs of crabs. Then they are let loose in the yard and people will observe their movements. The family would be blessed with fortune and wealth if the majority of crabs could crawl inside the courtyard.

　　每年中秋节，天津沿海有一种叫“螃蟹爬月”的习俗。在中秋节的晚上，人们把小蜡烛或油捻放在螃蟹的背上。然后把它们放在院子里观察它们的活动。如果螃蟹都往院子里爬，就代表着未来一年都会有好运和财富降临。

　　Watching the Tides of the Qiantang River（钱塘江观潮）

　　In Zhejiang Province, watching the tides of the Qiantang River is an important celebratory activity. As the moon waxes and wanes, tides ebb and flow. And at mid-autumn, the full moon causes particularly large tides. This makes the Qiantang River a popular tourist attraction in the region.

　　钱塘江观潮是中秋节的一项重要的庆祝活动。潮汐的涨落与月亮的盈亏相吻合，因此在中秋节的时候潮汐会特别大。它也成为了该地区著名的旅游景点。

　　　Drinking Osmanthus Wine（饮桂花酒）

　　Drinking osmanthus wine during the Mid-Autumn Festival is a tradition that has been kept alive through the ages. Drinking osmanthus wine during the Mid-Autumn Festival is believed to bring harmony in the family, wealth, and auspiciousness, in the same way celebrating the full moon and eating mooncakes will. It is a long-standing practice in China, especially popular in the provinces of Zhejiang and Jiangsu.
